Johnny Barber

“I am simply a man who felt the portrayal of the people of the Middle East in the American news media was seriously lacking in truth, dimension and perspective. After the devastation of September 11, 2001, I was determined to act. I decided to see for myself who the people of Palestine, Lebanon, Iraq and Israel are. I wanted to know about the hopes and dreams and how they lived their day to day lives. I made my first trip to Palestine and Israel in January of 2008.”

Johnny traveled to Afghanistan with Voices for Creative Nonviolence in 2011 and has become a valued colleague.
